English-PSY practice test, the Padua test for Psychological Science.

EnglishThe questions, answers and solutions of this simulator are in English, as in the real exam.

Same structure, same section timings and same scoring as the English-PSY, the admission test of the University of Padua for the BSc in Psychological Science and the TEMPS degree, entirely in English. It is not a TOLC: it runs on the CISIA platform, but it is the Padua test, and there is no "TOLC-PSY". Questions, options and marking are in English, as in the real test. The correct answer to every question and your weak topics arrive by email for free; with an account you see them straight away here, together with the score, which is already on the page for everyone. The guided step-by-step solution unlocks with your first lesson.

For international applicants: this free practice test mirrors the structure of the University of Padua English-PSY admission test for the BSc in Psychological Science and TEMPS: Reading comprehension, Basic mathematics, Biology, Verbal reasoning and Numerical reasoning, each separately timed, with no English-language section. The questions are original, not the real ones. Results and full solutions are emailed to you.

Section Questions Minutes
Reading comprehension 10 20
Basic mathematics 10 20
Biology 10 15
Verbal reasoning 10 25
Numerical reasoning 10 20

50 questions in total · 100 minutes across five separately timed sections, with no going back · 5 options per question · no English-language section. Scoring: +1 correct · −0.25 wrong · 0 blank. Original questions in the style of the test, not the real ones; the section splits are indicative. Each section draws from a much larger pool than a single test needs, so two consecutive practice tests will not look alike.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is the English-PSY?

It is the admission test of the University of Padua for the three-year BSc in Psychological Science (and the TEMPS degree), entirely in English. It is delivered on the CISIA platform but it is not a TOLC: there is no "TOLC-PSY", and the structure is that of the TOLC-PSI without the English section. Dates, places and requirements are set by the Padua call: always check that.

What is the structure of the test?

50 questions in 100 minutes, with five options (only one correct), in five separately timed sections in the order of the call: Reading comprehension (10 questions on two texts of 5 questions each, 20 minutes), Basic mathematics (10, 20 minutes), Biology (10, 15 minutes), Verbal reasoning (10, 25 minutes), Numerical reasoning (10, 20 minutes). When the time is up you move on to the next section and you cannot go back. There is no English-language section: the whole test is in English. Source: Padua call 2026/27 (read on 29 October 2026).

How is it scored and what are the thresholds?

+1 per correct answer, −0.25 per wrong one, 0 per blank, maximum 50. You need at least 10/50 to enter the ranking. If you answer correctly fewer than 4 out of 10 questions in Basic mathematics or in Biology you have an OFA to recover. On equal scores the sum of Reading, Verbal and Numerical counts first, then Basic mathematics, then Biology, then the younger candidate. The practice test shows your total, the thresholds and a reference line: the last admitted candidate of 2025/26 scored 34.50/50, a context figure that changes every year.

How hard is it?

The 10/50 threshold is low, but the competition is played on the total: the reference of the last admitted candidate of 2025/26 is much higher. The syllabus is that of a TOLC-PSI (basic maths and biology, verbal and numerical reasoning, reading comprehension), with English texts at B2 level. The questions in this practice test are original and the section splits are indicative, not an official figure.

When is the English-PSY held?

In 2026 the sittings were on 26 and 31 March for non-EU candidates and on 21 April for EU candidates. For 2027/28 applications are indicated from 7 January to 7 March 2027 (non-EU) and from 15 March to 7 April 2027 (EU) on apply.unipd.it; the 2027 test dates were not yet published when we checked, on 29 October 2026. Always check the Padua call before you apply.

What do I see at the end of the practice test?

The correct answer to every question and your weak topics arrive by email for free; with an account you see them straight away here, together with the score, which is already on the page for everyone. The guided step-by-step solution unlocks with your first lesson.
