Rome and Lazio

Online tutoring for students in Rome.

I am Gaetano, a graduate of the Politecnico di Milano. I live in Milan but work online: for eight years I have been tutoring maths, physics and science for students all over Italy, with a good number from Rome, from liceo scientifico (science-focused high school), classical and technical schools to the first years at Sapienza and Tor Vergata, and Medicine admission prep. With our team of affiliate tutors we also cover computer science, languages and the humanities. No commuting, no ring-road traffic: just 1-to-1 video lessons.

Why online

Rome is big: video lessons make it small.

Between travelling and waiting, an in-person lesson in Rome costs you two hours more than the time you actually spend studying. A 1-to-1 video lesson takes the problem away without losing anything in quality.

  • Distance gone

I live in Milan, but a 1-to-1 video lesson works just the same from Rome: no traffic between Trastevere and the EUR district, no metro into the centre. The time you save goes into exercises.

  • A Politecnico di Milano tutor

A graduate in aerospace engineering from the Politecnico. I know the syllabuses of the science faculties in Rome (Sapienza, Tor Vergata, Roma Tre) and the books most used in the capital's high schools.

  • Strong on the TOLC and Medicine admission tests

Rome is one of the biggest catchment areas for the Medicine admission tests. I work on biology, general and inorganic chemistry, physics, maths and logical reasoning, starting from where you are and getting you to your target scores.

  • Materials in your personal area

Notes, exercises and diagrams stay stored in your profile. No loose sheets, no PDFs lost on your phone: you find everything again the evening before the test or exam.

Before you start, try our free practice tests and exercises for high school, the maturità and admission tests.

Neighbourhoods

The students I work with in Rome.

Online, where you start from does not matter. In recent years I have worked with students from Rome from these neighbourhoods.

  • Historic centre
  • Trastevere
  • Prati
  • Parioli
  • EUR
  • Monteverde
  • San Giovanni
  • Trieste
  • Flaminio
  • Tiburtino
  • Ostiense
  • Garbatella

…and outside Rome: Frascati, Tivoli, Pomezia, Fiumicino, Latina, Viterbo, Rieti.

Subjects

What I study with you.

Maths and physics are the most requested subjects in Rome, from the licei scientifici to the first two years of engineering and medicine at Sapienza and Tor Vergata. For high school students I have a dedicated page on maths tutoring for high school.
  • Maths

Algebra, calculus and analytic geometry, from high school to university.

  • Physics

Mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism: high school and the first two years of university.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Do you know the textbooks used in Rome's high schools?

I know the most widely used ones, including at the Righi, Galileo, Tasso, Mamiani and Visconti schools: Manuale Blu by Bergamini for maths at the liceo scientifico, Walker or Halliday for physics, the Atlas books for earth science and biology, Cay Horstmann for computer science. I can follow you on the same pages your teacher uses, with exercises from the book or set in class.

Do you help university students at Sapienza, Tor Vergata, Roma Tre and LUISS?

Yes, especially in the first two years: calculus 1 and 2, physics 1 and 2, geometry, linear algebra, computer science fundamentals, numerical analysis. LUISS has general maths and statistics exams in the economics degree that I follow regularly. The distance between Milan and Rome makes no difference: the syllabus is almost identical to Polimi and Statale, and the tool is the video lesson.

Are you in Rome, or do you only work from Milan?

I live and work in Milan, but the tutoring is 100% online by video call. For a student in Rome it changes little: the quality is the same, there is no travelling, and you get a tutor with a Polimi background at local market rates. If you prefer an in-person tutor in Rome I am not the right person, but if you want someone with a structured method and digital material, online works very well.

How does payment work?

Payment is offline (bank transfer, Satispay, PayPal or Revolut, with Revolut also by card or Apple Pay through the link) after the free introductory call, so you do not have to pay anything up front to a tutor you have not met yet. No automatic subscription, no card to enter on the site.

Shall we start?

A 30-minute introductory phone call is free. I tell you how I work, we find out where to start and I propose a plan tailored to you.
