Admission tests

Online admission test preparation.

The TOLC tests (I, E, F, S, B, AV), the Bocconi and Cattolica tests, medicine, engineering, quantitative and statistics paths: the main entrance tests for Italian universities. An admission test is won with two things: a solid review of the basics and timed practice tests. We work on both, starting from your real weak points and not from the generic syllabus.

Who it is for

The students I work with

  • Students about to take the maturità who want to get into engineering, economics, pharmacy or medicine.
  • University students who have to retake a TOLC to change faculty or to cover an extra learning requirement (OFA).
  • Students sitting the TOLC some years after high school who need to refresh basics they have not used for a while.
  • Students who are already prepared and are looking for a coach for practice tests and exam strategy.
A typical lesson

How it works

  1. We start from an initial practice test to see where to begin.
  2. We build a weekly study plan with clear priorities.
  3. In the lessons we alternate targeted theory review and batches of quizzes.
  4. We analyse the mistakes one by one: understanding why matters more than the single question.
  5. In the last weeks we simulate the test in real conditions, stopwatch included.

FAQ

Test preparation: frequently asked questions.

How long before should I start preparing for the TOLC or other tests?

Ideally 3-4 months before the date, with 1-2 lessons a week. If you have less time it is not impossible, but the sessions have to be denser and targeted on your weak points, identified with an initial practice test.

Do we work more on theory or on practice tests?

Both, with a balance that changes over time. At the start the targeted theory review of the test subjects prevails, then the weight gradually shifts to timed practice tests and to analysing mistakes.

Can I prepare the maths section of the TOLC even if I did not attend a liceo scientifico?

Yes, but it takes more time. If you come from a technical school or a classics school, we first need to fill the basic gaps (trigonometry, analytic geometry, probability) before tackling the typical questions of the TOLC or the Bocconi test.

Do you also prepare students for the Bocconi test or the Cattolica test?

Yes. For the Bocconi test we work on quantitative and logical reasoning in SAT/GMAT style, with exercises calibrated to the level required, and in parallel we look after the technical English part. For Cattolica we adapt the plan to the specific faculty (economics, political science, education sciences…), covering logic, general knowledge and the faculty-specific part.

Can I also prepare for statistics or data science paths?

Yes. For quantitative degrees (statistics, data science, artificial intelligence, quantitative economics) the TOLC-S and the internal tests require solid foundations in probability, descriptive statistics and algebra. We first work on strengthening the maths basics, then on the specific part of the chosen test.

Do you also help with the logic and reading comprehension section?

Yes, although my specialisation is the scientific and quantitative part. For logic and comprehension we work on the most frequent quiz types and on time-management techniques so you do not get stuck on a single question.
