Question 2 · Comprensione del testo e lingua italiana · Grammatica italiana

Solution

Risposta: A.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Is the practice test identical to the real TOLC-SU?

It follows the 2026 CISIA structure: 50 questions in 100 minutes across 3 separately timed sections — 30 reading comprehension and Italian language, 10 on knowledge and skills acquired in school, 10 logical reasoning — plus 30 English questions in 15 minutes, marked separately. Scoring is +1 for a correct answer, −0.25 for a wrong one and 0 for a blank (there is no penalty in the English section). The questions are original, written in the style of the official syllabus — they are not copied CISIA questions.

Is the “reading comprehension and Italian language” section just reading?

No: it is 30 questions, 60% of the test, mixing comprehension passages (history, literature, philosophy, popular science) and questions on grammar, syntax, vocabulary and register. It is by far the heaviest section — underestimating it is the most common mistake of people preparing for the TOLC-SU.

What does “knowledge and skills acquired in your studies” cover?

General knowledge in the broad sense: history, literature, art history, geography — the classic “encyclopaedic knowledge” of high school, not specialist knowledge of any single degree course.

Where can I take a free TOLC-SU practice test online?

Right here on this page: the TOLC-SU practice test is free, starts immediately, uses the section timing of the real test and can be retaken as many times as you like. At the end you receive by email your score out of 50, the breakdown by section and the correct answer to every question.

Can I retake the practice test more than once?

Yes, as often as you like. The questions are drawn at random from a bank of verified questions for each area, so every attempt is a different test. If you close the page halfway through, the test resumes where you left off.

What if my score is low?

That is exactly why the practice test exists: at the end you see the breakdown by section and by topic, so you know where to focus your revision. If you would like a hand, the first call with me is a free diagnostic: we look at the results together and build a plan around your real gaps.
