Tutoring for students with DSA, their own way.
Dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysorthography and dyscalculia are not about effort or intelligence. Ours is tutoring: 1-to-1 online lessons in which students study in the way that suits how they learn best, using the tools and measures of the school's personalised plan (PDP), at their own pace.
It is not therapy or rehabilitation, and it does not replace the work of specialists and the school: it is practical help to organise study and revise school subjects.
Everyone has their own way of learning.
Families and students who write to us
- Students with a DSA diagnosis who have a PDP and want to use the tools and measures set by the school well.
- Students who study a lot and get little back, because reading or writing takes extra time and effort.
- Students struggling with maths or with theory subjects, who need diagrams and short steps.
- Students changing school level (middle, high school, university) who want a method that holds up under the new workload.
How we work
- We start from the PDP: if the family shares it, we look together at which tools and measures it sets for each subject.
- We choose the format: maps, diagrams, tables, formula sheets and, where useful, text-to-speech and digital books.
- We proceed in short steps: one goal at a time, at a calm pace and without rushing.
- We leave something to use alone: a simple method to apply to the week's homework.
What we build together.
There is no single programme: it depends on the subject, the class and what the PDP says. These are the most frequent areas of work.
- Study method
- Concept maps and summary diagrams
- Organising homework and time
- How to use digital books and text-to-speech
- Preparing for tests and oral exams
- Maths and science
- Formula sheets and tables built together
- Problems broken into steps
- Conscious use of the calculator
- Revision with examples and simple numbers
- Italian, languages and study subjects
- Guided reading and summaries
- Structure of a written text, with a spell checker
- Basic English vocabulary and grammar
- History and other subjects: diagrams and keywords
In Italy, law 170 of 2010 recognises DSA and provides compensatory tools and exemption measures at school; the details are in each student's PDP.
Frequently asked questions.
Do you provide diagnosis or rehabilitation?
No. Diagnosis belongs to health services and accredited specialists, and rehabilitation to the competent professionals. We offer tutoring: we help students study school subjects and organise their method, respecting what the PDP provides.
Do we need a diagnosis to begin?
No, it is not required for tutoring. If there is a diagnosis and a PDP, sharing them helps us work with the tools and measures already adopted at school.
Are your tutors trained on DSA?
We cannot promise it in general: it depends on who works with the student. After the introductory call Gaetano proposes the most suitable tutor according to subject, level and the needs the family describes, and tells you clearly.
What pace do the lessons have?
A lesson lasts an hour, but it can run at a calmer pace, with breaks and one goal at a time. You can start with a few lessons to see whether the method works for the student.
Do you work with university students with DSA?
Yes, lessons are available at any level. At university the measures are defined by each institution: we use the tools the student already has and work on exams and method.
For younger students see middle school tutoring; for high school high school maths and the teaching method.
Let's talk about it, without rushing.
A 30-minute introductory call is free: tell us the situation and what the PDP says, and we will tell you what we can offer and what we cannot. No commitment.
