Practice test 2 — English second paper.
Test in EnglishThe questions, answers and solutions of this simulator are in English, as in the real exam.
As in the exam: choose one text of the two set (Charles Dickens (literary) and an original text on social media (nonliterary)) and answer the comprehension questions, then choose 4 questions out of 8 of written production. All the material is in English. When you get stuck, reveal the model answer. At the end mark how much you had done on your own: the estimated mark is out of 20.
The second paper of the maturità, Italy’s school-leaving exam, is a written test of up to six hours in the main subject of your school type.
The correct answer to every question and your weak topics arrive by email for free; with an account you see them straight away here, together with the score, which is already on the page for everyone. The guided step-by-step solution unlocks with your first lesson.

Can I choose which text to work on?
Yes, as in the real exam: read both texts set (one literary, one nonliterary) and work on just one. The other stays visible with its questions and model answers, useful for practising afterwards.
How are the written production questions marked?
You choose four of the eight questions set, each worth 2.5 points. Every question has a model answer (essay plan, sample paragraph, formal letter or list of useful language depending on the task) to compare your answer against, for a total of 20 points between the chosen text and the questions.
