INVALSI maths is the national standardised test run by INVALSI that Italian students take in Year 2 of high school: a nationwide survey, not a grade.

What is the INVALSI maths test?
It is a national survey, not a grade: it checks the level reached in maths across four areas of the official “framework” — Numbers, Space and figures, Relations and functions, Data and prediction — with CBT (computer-based) questions, not a class test.
Does the INVALSI test count towards your average or your grade?
No. It does not contribute to the school grade or to the maturità average: for Year 2 classes it is a statistical survey of the school system, for Year 5 classes it is a requirement for admission to the final state exam (the maturità) — you only have to have taken it, the score does not enter the final grade.
When is the Year 2 INVALSI test held?
In spring, in a window of a few weeks decided every year by the Ministry. The official 2027 calendar comes out on invalsi.it: we do not give dates here that might change.
What does it mean that the test is “CBT”?
Computer Based Testing: the real test is taken on a computer, with a calculator and drawing tools (ruler, set square, compass, protractor) built into the testing software. This practice test reproduces the same style of questions and the same time allowed, but draws 25 questions from a bank of 80, not from the adaptive national pool used by the real test.
