Maths and physics tutoring, taught in English.
Studying science subjects in a language that isn't your first adds a difficulty no syllabus accounts for. We start by working out whether the real problem is the maths or the English — then focus on the right one.
Two skill sets, not one
- Gaetano Livornese — aerospace engineer, Politecnico di Milano. He teaches maths and physics from intuition, not from the formula.
- Claudia Edwards — native English speaker, born and raised in London, Italian C2, over ten years of teaching experience.
- An English teacher won't walk you through calculus; a maths tutor usually isn't a native English speaker. Here you get both, and we figure out together which one you actually need.
Separating language from subject
- You send over a homework set or a test from your own class in advance.
- We solve the same exercise first in Italian, then in English.
- The gap between the two tells us where the real problem actually is.
- We build the plan around that: content, technical vocabulary, or both.
- Notes stay in your personal student area, in whichever language you prefer.
Whichever curriculum your school teaches.
The maths and physics content is the same wherever it's assigned — algebra, calculus, mechanics, thermodynamics. What changes is the exam format and the vocabulary it's tested in, so we build the lesson around your actual syllabus and coursework.

Online, 1-to-1, on your own material
Lessons run over video call, one student at a time. We work from your actual homework, tests and textbook — not a generic curriculum outline — because the vocabulary a specific teacher expects matters as much as the maths itself.
Notes and materials are saved in your personal student area after every lesson, in whichever language you prefer. Booking and scheduling go through WhatsApp or the Contact page.

- Single lesson — 40 €.
- 10-lesson package — 360 € (36 €/hour).
- Payment is offline, after the lessons — no card details up front. The first 30-minute call is always free.
Frequently asked questions.
I'm not in Italy — can we still schedule lessons?
Yes. Lessons are online, so your school's timezone isn't a constraint. We work in Europe/Rome time by default and adjust the slot to fit a family based elsewhere — plenty of international-school families split time between Italy and another country during the school year.
Which curricula do you cover?
We work with students following the IB Diploma Programme (Maths AA or AI) and the IB Middle Years Programme, IGCSE and A-level Maths & Physics, and AP Calculus/Physics. The underlying maths and physics — algebra, calculus, mechanics, thermodynamics — is the same content whichever syllabus assigns it; what changes is the exam format and the vocabulary it's tested in, and that's what we adapt to.
Is the lesson in English or Italian?
Both, and you can switch between them. Gaetano teaches the maths and physics itself, in Italian or English depending on what helps you most. If the block is specifically the language rather than the subject, Claudia Edwards — a native English speaker from London — works on that side. Most students start in Italian to nail the concept, then rehearse explaining it in English the way their teacher will expect.
Do you help with homework and exam preparation?
Yes — and we work from your actual homework, tests and textbook, not a generic syllabus outline. Send over what your class is covering and we build the lesson around it. That's also how the first lesson's language/subject diagnostic works: it only means something if it's run on your real material.
